I was seriously a bit of sceptic when I heard about the Lincoln Electric K2185-1 Mig Welder, and I did not think that it could possibly do all that I needed it to do, but boy was I wrong. So wrong in fact that I had to buy a buddy a few beers to apologise for not taking him at his word! He just laughed and invited me to share them with him though.
But to get back to serious business, I highly recommend this little unit – it did everything I asked of it and more besides. My first task was to do some welding on the exhaust of my wife’s car, and I thought I was going to have problems, but the Lincoln K2185-1 worked like a dream. I have done a few other jobs with it too, and even though I have not got around to purchasing the shielding gas yet, I find the flux core works very well for me.

- This Wire Feed Welder is compact, lightweight, and is extremely user-friendly.
- Weighing in at a mere 46 pounds makes it very portable.
- The 70 amps welder plugs into my house’s 115Volt, 20 amp outlet.
- I can use it to do virtually all the light gauge mild steel welding projects around my home and on my boat.
- It is very reasonably priced and comes weld-ready.
I really appreciate the fact that this unit is so light and yet so hard-working. I thought that I may have some problems when I wanted to weld a slightly thicker security gate, but this little baby showed metal; it handled the job with the greatest of ease. When it comes to dialling down to work with 18 gauge sheet metal I found that the four settings provided make it easy. Even when my son swiped my new Lincoln Electric K2185-1 Mig Welder to do some welding on his bike he said it was a pleasure to use, and he has only welded once before in his life!
If you want a welder that will be able to do virtually every handyman job that you will ever have to do, then it is really always better to buy a brand that is known for its reliability and quality instead of buying an unknown brand which will give you endless problems. Lincoln Electric is such a firm, and the Lincoln Electric K2185-1 Mig Welder is one piece of equipment which you will never be sorry that you invested in.
